Bookkeeper/Office Administrator
Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale (CSAIR) is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to join our team. CSAIR is an active, engaged, and inclusive 400+ household community.
This individual’s bookkeeping responsibilities will include:
preparing checks for deposit and invoices for payment by outsourced accounting company
billing members (and non-members as applicable) for dues, tuition, activities, and other charges
maintaining records of members in synagogue database
managing and recording the flow of monies in and out of multiple synagogue funds
playing a key role in our annual member renewal process
supporting various fundraising efforts and events throughout the year
playing an important part in an upcoming major capital campaign effort
Office administration responsibilities include:
managing office supply inventory
maintenance of office equipment, including copier, phone system, postage meter, etc.
occasional administrative support as needed. (This may include answering phones, fielding membership questions, helping with mailings and other administrative tasks)
The ideal candidate should:
Exhibit strong computer skills, including facility with the Microsoft Office platform as well as Google Workspace.
Have the ability to adhere to strict confidentiality, to recognize and handle sensitive information in an appropriate manner, and to show tact and solid interpersonal and communications skills.
Ability to quickly learn synagogue database/CRM system, Shulcloud
Be a collaborative team player
Experience
5-7 years of bookkeeping in a business setting. Non-profit/community/faith-based experience is a plus as is knowledge of Jewish customs and practices (or the ability to quickly learn them).
This is a part-time (approximately 25 hours per week), non-exempt position.
Salary $25-30/hour based on experience.
